On the quaint courts in the shadow of St. Andrew’s Church, Tarring, one can often witness extreme examples of skilful, energetic tennis played with fluidity and timing. However on Wednesday evening in the summer between 7 and 8 p.m. St. Matthew’s Tennis association take up residence with varying results. The game is played in an array of eclectic attire and the balls are sometimes retained within the surrounding fence! Incidents of random and manic activity are interspersed moments of total inertia. In all cases there is a wonderful spirit of enjoyment and fellowship. All are welcome; see Andrew Tomes for less information.
